Red light - When/How to use which lamp?
Red light
Red light is ideally usedwhen it is dark outside. This moment naturally marks the transition from activity to rest for the body. Whereas daylight and blue light activate the body, red light helps to slow down and prepare for the night.
At Alina, we don't see red light as a trend, but as a logical extension of how light works naturally.
At the end of the day, the natural light around us changes. The sun is low, the light becomes warmer and contains less and less blue. This is no coincidence: the human body is evolutionarily attuned to this transition.
Red light is in line with this natural process. In contrast to blue and white artificial light:
-
Does red light disrupt melatonin production?
-
promotes relaxation
-
helps the body recognize that the day is coming to an end
You can think of red light as the artificial equivalent of the red evening sun: soft, low-stimulating, and soothing, whereas blue light acts like bright midday light that turns the body "on."

When do you use red light?
-
As soon as it gets dark outside
-
In the evening while relaxing, reading, or watching TV
-
During nighttime moments (toilet, nursery)
-
As an alternative to standard artificial lighting in the evening
The goal is not to avoid light altogether, but to use the right light at the right time.
